Nue Riverest Ratburana: a premium riverside complex on the Chao Phraya

Nue Riverest Ratburana stands directly on the bank of the Chao Phraya river in Ratburana, in the south-east of Bangkok, a 20-minute drive from Sathorn and Silom, the Thai capital's first business district.

The project adjoins the Rama IX bridge, which links Ratburana with the Rama 3 district, and will in time sit 850 metres from Ratburana MRT station on the purple line.

Buying property in Ratburana with a river view and, at the same time, twenty minutes from the city's business core has until now been all but impossible: almost no vacant riverside plots are left in this part of Bangkok.

The architectural concept is called Urbanrest: a silhouette of buildings of varying height evokes a mountain ridge facing the river, while the complex itself consists of 8 free-standing low-density blocks, a rarity in a district of dense infill construction.

The exterior is kept to a restrained beige-and-brown palette with vertical metal louvres and cascading green balconies running down the facade, so that the blocks echo the mountain-relief idea visually.

The lobby and public-area interiors were designed by the Bangkok studio BEGRAY (working since 2000, with hotels and restaurants in its portfolio): terracotta tiling, dark timber, brass fittings and two-storey stained glazing. The landscaping was designed by LandscapeTectonix, known for its work with international hotel operators across Asia.

Apartments at Nue Riverest are available from studios to three-bedroom layouts:

Location

Ratburana occupies the south-eastern part of Bangkok, on the bend of the Chao Phraya that feng shui tradition calls the "dragon's belly": a place that attracts capital. The headquarters of Kasikornbank, one of Thailand's four largest banks, stands here, and a neighbour of that standing raises the district's status, pulls up the quality of the business infrastructure around it and supports property prices over the medium term.

To the west Ratburana adjoins Rama 3, a business district of offices and production sites that continues the development of Sathorn.

Transport and the future metro

The district's key advantage over the next few years is the construction of the southern extension of the MRT purple line (Tao Poon - Ratburana). The project began on 16 August 2022 with a budget of 82 billion baht and is scheduled to open at the end of 2027. The line will run from the north-west to the south-east of Bangkok, including a 13.6 km underground section (10 stations) and 10 km elevated (7 stations). Ratburana MRT station will sit 850 metres from Nue Riverest Ratburana.

Today the district is already 20 minutes by car from BTS Chong Nonsi and the Sathorn/Silom business centre, while the Rama IX bridge gives a direct link to Rama 3.
